GOLFERS’ DILEMMA
I want to play golf.
I am lazy to find a course or book a tee time.
It is nice to play with friends but I am not sure who is available to play when I can.
I want to know how to improve my game.
What if the weather is bad?
If this describes you, then do not despair. There are thousands of others like you. They end up spending a lot of time on the phone, texting, calling, and “searching for a game” – somewhere….with someone…or heading to the golf course to go on a waiting list.
There has to be a better way of enjoying the sport.
How about something like this:
1) Twice a week, there is an organized Birdiehunters of BC golf tournament you can join*
2) The golf courses venues are pre-booked in advance
3) Annual Membership fee is $50 payable to British Columbia Golf**
4) Play any tees you want, with your foursome or others in the group
5) Have a VALID Handicap Card**, recognized in Canada or anywhere in the world
6) Track statistics of your game to highlight aspects of it needing improvement***
7) Get up-to-date information about GOLF in Vancouver
8) Become familiar with the Rules of Golf
*Birdiehunters of BC is registered as a Public Players Club with Golf BC and Golf Canada.
**British Columbia Golf (GolfBC) is recognized by the Government of BC as the official golf association in BC. Membership with GolfBC provides the golfer with outstanding benefits including a Valid Handicap Card. Visit their website: britishcolumbiagolf.org
***Game statistics tracking is by way of a GOLF CANADA system where your scores are recorded for handicap purposes. You can track any aspect of your game on the Scorecard to help improve your game. Visit their website: golfcanada.ca
